Privacy and browser storage.

This notice describes the storage and external requests visible in the current Weekend Pitmasters code. Updated October 11, 2026.

Your choices

Google Analytics is off until you choose to allow it. The same opt-in rule is used for all visitors. Declining analytics does not disable the planner or your saved plans. Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track signals keep analytics off even if an earlier choice allowed it. Your privacy choice is stored on this device for 90 days.

Change analytics choice

You can withdraw permission here or through Privacy choices in every page footer. Withdrawal disables analytics, deletes accessible Google Analytics cookies for this site, and reloads the page to stop the loaded tag. It does not erase data already received by Google. A browser signal is also checked on each page load. Choices in another tab trigger a reload.

Cook plans on your device

Local storage keeps form settings, display preferences, named plans, and weather cache. A named plan includes its name, saved time, cut, start and serve times, duration, style, and full planner settings. Up to 20 named plans are kept. Local plans have no automatic time expiry; they remain until you delete them or clear browser site data. Saving also downloads a JSON copy, which you manage separately.

The weather cache is reused for 30 minutes; stale entries may remain on the device until a later cache write or deletion. The weather module also keeps shorter-lived in-memory caches. The service worker caches pages, forecasts, and site assets for offline use. Clearing the local planner data below does not remove offline caches or downloaded files. Use browser site-data settings to remove all of this site's stored data.

Sharing and email

A shared plan URL contains encoded planner settings, including meal time and location-related inputs if present. Encoding is not encryption. Anyone with the link can read its settings. URLs may appear in browser history, hosting logs, and the service worker's page cache. Avoid private information in shared settings or plan names.

Copy uses your clipboard. Share hands the link to your device's sharing interface. Email opens a draft in your chosen mail app; this site's code does not send the message. A downloaded plan or image stays on your device until you share it. Printing uses your browser. Embedded planners post plan updates and height messages to the parent site, using the supplied or referrer origin when available; a wildcard is the fallback. That parent site may handle the received information under its own policy.

External services

• Optional Google Analytics uses site cookies and sends usage requests to Google after permission. Advertising personalization and Google signals are disabled in site configuration. Page-view URLs and referrers omit query strings and fragments. Analytics is not loaded on pages with query strings or fragments, even after permission. Google account retention and any enhanced-measurement settings still require owner verification. See Google's privacy information.
• Google Fonts loads without the analytics choice and receives font requests, including network information such as IP address. Fonts are not Google Analytics.
• When you press Check weather, Zippopotam.us receives the ZIP lookup and the National Weather Service receives coordinates for the forecast. A valid cached result may avoid a new request. These providers receive normal network request information. Weather is not required to build a plan.
• Clicking an external recipe or paid product link sends you to that provider. Affiliate links may use that provider's tracking under its own policy.

Hosting, retention, and requests

The web host receives page and asset requests and may log IP address, requested URL, and browser information. Hosting and email retention periods are not established in this source-code review. If you send email, the message and information you supply are handled by the email provider. The site does not provide account registration or a server-side cook-plan database.

Contact us to request access, correction, or deletion of information you have provided directly. Device-only plans must be removed on your own device; we cannot remotely retrieve or delete them. The rights and obligations that apply depend on location and the site's data practices. This notice does not claim verified compliance with every jurisdiction.
